Senator Kaufman calls for revision of disclosure exemption for SEC in the Wall Street Reform Act. The Delaware Democrat says it’s not only too broad right now, but the way the law is written just doesn’t serve the public interest. The bottom line is,it isn’t consistent with the general goal of greater transparency, "I think everybody is on the same page. We talked to the Security Exchange Commission and clearly it wasn't their intention to block legitimate requests, especially from media organizations to information they should have." In coming weeks, Kaufman hopes to work with the SEC and other senators to craft a more reasonable approach that satisfies everyone’s concerns.
